Interior cleaning – basics and textile care
Sequence for interior cleaning
First remove loose dirt with a vacuum cleaner with a narrow nozzle – take out floor carpets and mats for this. Clean carpets and floor mats with Fabric. Clean plastics and vinyl upholstery with Plastic Wash. Vacuum textile seats well and clean with Fabric.
Fabric textile cleaner
Fabric is a textile cleaner concentrate that is mixed with carbonated mineral water in the Mixing Bottle. The ready-to-use mixture is sprayed on and allows thorough, gentle cleaning of fabric upholstery, carpets, headliners and soft tops.
Advantage over foam products: better fine dosing, which avoids cleaning rings on the surface.
Using Fabric textile cleaner
1. Fill the Mixing Bottle with carbonated mineral water up to the "1:2" mark.
2. Add Fabric concentrate up to the "1:3" mark. Swirl gently.
3. Spray the Fabric mixture on evenly and let it act for 1–2 minutes.
4. Lightly rub off the surface with a soft brush or clean cloth and let it dry.
5. Thoroughly vacuum the dried surface.
6. Re-impregnate the cleaned surfaces afterwards with Lotos Protectant.
Clean Alcantara with Alcanta Cleaner
Alcantara seats and trim are durable but must be cleaned gently. Conventional cleaners often contain solvents that weaken the synthetic fibres. Alcanta Cleaner uses biodegradable active ingredients and was developed specifically for artificial suede.
Using Alcanta Cleaner
1. Spray Alcanta Cleaner onto a small sponge or directly onto the surface. Clean the entire surface with dabbing motions under medium pressure.
2. On heavier soiling, spray on Alcanta Cleaner and work it in with the Cleaning Brush in circular motions without pressure.
3. Dab dry with a soft cotton cloth. Never rub!
Quick Interior Finish – quick care in minutes
Quick Interior Finish removes dust, grease and dirt in seconds on plastics, painted surfaces, leather and metal surfaces in the interior and leaves a cared-for, anti-static finish.
Using Quick Interior Finish
1. Remove loose dirt with a vacuum cleaner.
2. Shake the bottle well.
3. Spray Quick Interior Finish onto a Micro-Wash microfibre cloth and spread evenly.
4. Turn the cloth and buff over with the dry side.
Wood Polish – clean and seal fine wood
Fine wood trims in the interior are usually protected by thin clear-coat layers and need special care. Wood Polish is based on pure Grade One Carnauba wax and creates unmatched gloss with long-lasting care and protection – an insider tip among concours participants for years.
Using Wood Polish
1. Apply Cleaner Fluid Regular to the wood surfaces with the Cotton Applicator white.
2. Work in with even up-and-down motions.
3. Buff off with a clean cloth.
4. Warm the Wood Polish with a lightly circular motion of your finger and apply sparingly and without pressure with your fingertip. Let it act for 5 minutes.
5. Buff to a gloss with the Micro-Polish blue.
Plastic care – cleaning and dressing
As with skincare, the rule is: first the deep cleaning, then the care. Plastic Wash delivers pore-deep clean plastics, after which Protecton cares for them with a satin dressing or Protecton Matt with a matte finish – you choose the level of gloss.
Best results with the Schwammapplikator black. Treat hard-to-reach areas such as air vents with the Detail Brush.
Using Plastic Wash
1. Wipe plastic or vinyl surfaces with a damp Micro-Wash cloth.
2. Spray Plastic Wash onto a Micro-Wash cloth or directly onto the surface and spread evenly.
3. Work in with medium pressure. On textured surfaces use the cleaning brush.
4. Wipe over with a slightly damp cloth.
Using Protecton (gloss)
1. Clean plastic with Plastic Wash. On steering wheels and gear knobs: dish soap degreases thoroughly.
2. Apply Protecton with the Schwammapplikator.
3. Let it act – the milky-white film turns into a deep-black finish.
Using Protecton Matt
1. Clean plastic and let it dry.
2. Shake the bottle well.
3. Apply Protecton Matt evenly with the Schwammapplikator and firm pressure.
4. After about 20 minutes the matte finish becomes visible.
